Resolutions and Why They Fail

Have you ever wondered why year after year you have good intentions, set a plan, and start your journey towards your resolutions to only be a couple weeks in or maybe a month in and realize you are back to old patterns and behaviors? You are not alone. Many of us do this year after year and we continue to feel trapped and blame ourselves for not being enough in some way or not having enough motivation, drive, etc. The truth is that motivation, drive, and intentions only take us so far.

Have you ever really wondered what is standing in your way? Beliefs about ourselves and the world we live in interfere with us being successful at our goals. We all have many beliefs that have been instilled in us at a young age and throughout life by our parents, teachers, loved ones, friends, bosses, and experiences that we have had in our lives. Your beliefs can have both positive and negative consequences in your life. Beliefs can affect our moods, relationships, job performance, self-esteem, financial stability, and physical health. Here are a few examples of common beliefs:

“No matter what I do or how hard I try, it’s never good enough”

“If people really knew the real me, they wouldn’t like me”

“My opinion doesn’t matter”

“I am not enough”

“I am not deserving”

“I am unworthy”

Once we become more aware to what some of these beliefs are that are limiting us then we can shift the beliefs. There are different ways to shift our beliefs through Affirmations, Hypnotherapy, and through PSYCH-K®.
